Carrie A. Buscarini, Esquire

Attorney Buscarini grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania and attended the University of Pittsburgh, where she received a B.A. degree in social work with magna cum laude honors in 1997. She then received her Juris Doctorate degree from Widener University School of Law in 2000. While attending Widener University School of Law, her honors included Dean’s List, Certificate of Achievement (for the highest grade in the class) in Federal Courts and Pennsylvania Criminal Practice, was awarded the Trial Advocacy Honor Society Award, and was elected the Trial Advocacy Honor Society President.

While attending law school, Attorney Buscarini served as a Law Clerk for Handler, Henning & Rosenberg, Harrisburg, PA; a Certified Law Clerk for the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office, Harrisburg, PA; and a Legal Intern for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, PA. As a result of her internship with the United States Attorney’s Office, in 1999, Attorney Buscarini received a Public Service Award from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

Following graduation from law school, until 2004, Attorney Buscarini served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, representing victims of crime. Attorney Buscarini was promoted through a number of specialized units in the District Attorney’s Office. One such promotion included the position of Senior Prosecuting Attorney, where she assisted in the supervision of approximately 15 assistant district attorneys assigned to the Juvenile Court Unit. Prior to leaving the District Attorney’s Office, she was assigned to the Family Violence and Sexual Assault Unit where she specialized in the prosecution of sexual assault of children and adults, as well as domestic violence. She has made numerous court appearances on behalf of victims, including hearings, bench trials, and jury trials.

In 2004, Attorney Buscarini joined the Law Offices of Eugene D. Sperazza as an Associate, where she transferred her courtroom experience, dedication and devotion to fighting for victims as an Assistant District Attorney directly to her practice of personal injury litigation, including medical malpractice, products liability, premises liability and motor vehicle liability cases.

In 2007, in the spirit of her devotion to the practice of law, Attorney Buscarini began the Buscarini Law Firm, P.C. Since that time, her primary practice area is family law and divorce.

In 2014, Attorney Buscarini was named a Top 10 Family Law Attorney under 40 in Pennsylvania by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys; named Top 40 Lawyer Under 40 in the category of Family Lawyers in Pennsylvania by the American Society of Legal Advocates; named 10 Best Under 40 in the category of Family Law Attorneys in Pennsylvania by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys; and Attorney Buscarini was awarded The Attorney Samuel Fallk Equal Access To Justice Award by the Lackawanna Bar Association; and also awarded the Pro Bono Award by the Pennsylvania Bar Association, both Awards given in appreciation for her outstanding contribution to the delivery of pro bono legal services.

In 2015, Attorney Buscarini was named a Top 10 Family Law Attorney under 40 in Pennsylvania by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys; named Top 40 Lawyer Under 40 in the category of Family Lawyers in Pennsylvania by the American Society of Legal Advocates; named 10 Best Under 40 in the category of Family Law Attorneys in Pennsylvania by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys; and also named in Nation’s Top One Percent by National Association of Distinguished Counsel.

In 2016 – 2024, Attorney Buscarini was named a Top 10 Family Law Attorney in Pennsylvania by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys; named 10 Best in the category of Family Law Attorneys in Pennsylvania by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys; and also named in Nation’s Top One Percent by National Association of Distinguished Counsel.

She is admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar, United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Supreme Court.

She serves as a Hearing Officer in Divorce for Lackawanna County Family Court. She is certified in parenting coordination by The Cooperative Parenting Institute. Also, she is certified in family mediation by the Association For Conflict Resolution.

She is a member of the American Bar Association Family Law Section; Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section; Lackawanna County Bar Association Family Law Rules Committee; and Wilkes-Barre Law and Library Association. She is also a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
